How it works
Length and mass use a base unit (meter / gram) with fixed conversion factors. Temperature uses offset formulas (C, F, K) because it is not proportional.
Defined here: mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, yd, mi; mg, g, kg, oz, lb, st; °C, °F, K.
Examples
1 m = 3.28084 ft 1 kg = 2.20462 lb 0 °C = 32 °F = 273.15 K
FAQ
Why is temperature special? °C↔°F is affine (×9/5 + 32), so simple factor tables do not work.
Imperial stones? 1 st = 14 lb, included for body-weight style inputs.
Precision? Factors are exact where possible (e.g. 1 in = 2.54 cm); results rounded to 6 significant digits.
Other categories? Area/volume has its own converter; this page stays length/mass/temp.
